[Rolling out in India & Indonesia] Redmi Note 8 Pro Global devices are finally receiving MIUI 12 [Download Link]

The Redmi Note 8 Pro launched last year to a great reception. It continued Xiaomi’s tradition of providing great hardware at an affordable price. It was one of the first smartphones in its price range to offer a 64MP camera. It had a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 with support for HDR. Under the hood, it ran a MediaTek Helio G90T. It could be configured with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. On the back, it sported a 64MP quad-camera setup which included an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro camera and a 2M depth sensor. In the front, it had a 20MP selfie camera housed in a water-drop notch.

Out of the box ran MIUI 11 based on Android 9. Later, it also went to receive the Android 10 update. And with the release of MIUI 12 this year, Note 8 Pro users have no doubt been waiting to eagerly update to Xiaomi’s latest and greatest in software. Previously Note 8 Pro had started receiving the MIUI 12 Stable Beta for Global devices back on 1st July. 20 days later it received the second Stable Beta.

MIUI 12 brings with it a ton of visual enhancements, security improvements and feature upgrades. Some of the more notable features are the improved Dark Mode, new camera functions, Android-10 inspired gesture navigation system, enhanced system animations and UI. Privacy and security enhancements are also a big focus in MIUI 12.

Redmi Note 8 Pro Global users who had been holding off until now will be pleased to hear that MIUI 12 is finally out of beta for them. Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI V12.0.2.0.QGGMIXM. Users can update by going to the Update section in Settings or they can download the update using the link provided below.
