Change Language Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart

Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Ratchet & Clank has been a popular series among fans of adventure titles. Well, in 2021, they released the latest game in the series, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, on PS5. This is the ninth main entry in the series and the direct sequel to Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, and it recently received a PC port on July 26th, 2023. This means that even though PS5 players have been well accustomed to the game, for PC players, it’s just the beginning. Anyway, while you’re unraveling the game on your PC, it’d be helpful if you knew how to change language in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. If you don’t know how to perform this task, consider reading this article until the end to find out.

Irrespective of which game you play, being able to access it in your own language always adds a benefit. The developers understand this requirement of the players clearly, and thus, most games support a number of different languages. Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart isn’t any different. The game currently supports a whopping total of 26 languages. These include English, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and more. You can choose most of these languages for the game’s interface, audio output, and subtitles. However, some languages can only be used for certain aspects. While Arabic is only supported for in-game audio output, the Turkish language can only be used in the interface and for subtitles. You probably have the picture now regarding how versatile the game is in terms of language support. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at how to change language in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

How to Change Language in Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart?

Change language in Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart

If you want to change the language in the game, it’s actually pretty easy and simple. You can perform this task by following the instructions given below –

Via Steam

  • Open Steam and go to your Library.
  • Locate Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart from the list of installed games, right-click on it.
  • From the context menu, click on Properties.
  • Select the General tab, and now you can find the option that reads Language.
  • There will be a box corresponding to the Language option that shows the language you have selected for the game. Click on the downward arrow corresponding to this box to expand the list. Now, click on the language that you want to use in the game.
  • Close the window and launch Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart. This should help you change the language in the game. If the language doesn’t change, consider restarting the game several times.

Via In-game Settings

You can also change the language setting in-game by accessing the Settings menu of the game. So, head there and select the Text Language option. Now, select the language of your choice and save the changes.

Note: Make sure that the English Audio option is turned off in the game Settings menu. If it is turned on, the in-game audio will be set to English regardless of the selected language option.

Via Launch options

You can also change the game’s language by accessing its launch options via Steam (as reported by a player). To do this, head to your Steam library, right-click on Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart and select Properties. Now, in the General tab, you will find the Launch option parameter. You can add the language of your choice in the launch parameter textbox to boot the game in that language. Here are some language commands you can use:

  • -italian
  • -german
  • -spanish
  • -russian

However, some players reported that changing the in-game language via Steam hasn’t really worked for them. This is a strange issue, but the developers have actually taken note of it. They shared the same steps that we already mentioned to fix this issue. Hopefully, they’re going to figure out what’s causing this bug soon and solve this problem.
