Yummy Games, an indie studio, just recently announced its debut title, Project Tower. Eyeing a Q3 release in 2024, Project Tower is a third-person sci-fi shooter in which you will be playing as an inmate in a mysterious tower. Your only chance of survival and freedom is to reach the top of the tower. The official announcement trailer for the game has generated some interest in the game. While the game is officially confirmed for a PC release, many also want to know if they will be able to enjoy it on PC handhelds like the Steam Deck, Rog Ally, and Legion Go.
The popularity of PC handhelds continues to grow, all thanks to the Steam Deck and other PC handhelds. Years ago, it was impossible to imagine playing titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, Elden Ring, and Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon on the go, but here we are. So, will Project Tower be playable on PC handhelds like the Steam Deck, Rog Ally, and Legion Go? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
Project Tower Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally & Lenovo Legion Go Support Details
At the time of publishing this, developer and publisher Yummy Games haven’t made any announcements or shared any info regarding Project Tower being playable on the Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, or the Lenovo Legion Go. Certainly, it is disappointing news for fans who were looking forward to playing Project Tower on these devices. There’s also very little information available on the game. In fact, the developers haven’t even shared Project Tower’s system requirements except for the fact that the minimum OS required is Windows 10, with Windows 11 being the recommended one.
Now, considering Yummy Games is comprised of only four developers, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility that Project Tower doesn’t get Verified for the Steam Deck. From what the official announcement trailer and Steam page of the game have shown so far, it’s pretty clear that Project Tower still needs some time in the oven. So, getting the game Verified for the Stem Deck must be pretty low on the priority list or not there at all. But still, a lot of games are playable on the Deck despite not getting the Verified tag. Will Project Tower be one of them? Maybe. Maybe not. You will have to try it out with Proton to see that. However, in case it’s not playable on the Deck, you can always dual-boot Windows on it and play it that way.
As for the Rog Ally and the Legion Go, we are more confident about them being able to run Project Tower. And it’s all because both of them use Windows as their OS, unlike the Steam Deck which has SteamOS (Linux-based). Plus, they also happen to have a much more powerful processor compared to the Deck. In a nutshell, even if the game isn’t playable on the Deck, it should be on the Rog Ally and the Legion Go. However, since nothing has been officially announced so far, we suggest taking the last two paragraphs with a grain of salt.
Well, that’s all the information we have on this.
