Pokémon Legends Z-A: How to get and catch Gengar

Pokémon Legends Z-A has a diverse Pokedex with an appreciable number of Pokémon. You will encounter most of them by progressing through the story, while some may be difficult to find. In this article, we will discuss Gengar, one of the rare Pokémon in the game, and look at some tips to catch it. Gengar is a rare Pokémon in the game, and players mostly have to rely on trading to get it. It generally hides in shadows, and the temperature of that place is low compared to the surroundings. We are listing all the possible methods to get the Pokémon so that you are prepared to catch it upon encounter.

The common route adopted by players is to use the Link trade feature that is available with an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. The Pokémon will evolve from Haunter when you trade it using this feature. You can then ask the other person to give it back once it has evolved.

You can find it in the middle of Wild Zone 20 after completing the Main mission 38. Other fully evolved Pokémon also spawn there, and the chances of encountering Gengar are very less. Also, it can spawn as an alpha Gengar with level 64 or above. If you don’t find it, fast travel back and forth to the place to make it spawn. After it spawns, save before proceeding so that you can make another attempt if you fail.

You will also encounter this Pokémon in a battle as a part of a story mission. When you are required to enter a haunted building, you will face at least 2 Gengars in the mission.

If you are trying to catch a Haunter and then evolve it, you can use the Dusk Balls. Also, apply a sleep or paralysis status to reduce catch resistance. During an encounter with Gengar, use the Ultra Balls and Pokémon with status moves to gain the upper hand.

That will be all from Digistatement. Since it’s a rare Pokémon, it’s recommended to make a manual save before attempting to catch it. If you apply the strategies effectively, you have a chance to catch the Pokémon. If you need more guidance regarding this or other queries, visit us for articles covering a diverse range of topics.
