Apparently, Pokemon with guns happens to be quite an interesting concept. So much so that, Palworld is currently one of the top games on Steam, having already sold 2 million copies in just 24 hours. Seems like a fun game to play. But while the game is certainly enjoyable, it does suffer from some major issues. This guide in particular will help you deal with the crashing on-launch issue that’s been troubling players since the release.
An issue like this is a pretty common one. A ton of factors could be at play here. For some players, the cause could be missing game files while for others, the issue could be due to the game not having admin access. Regardless, you are here for a fix, and we will help you with that. So, without further ado, let’s go ahead and find out all the fixes for this issue.
Palworld crashing on launch on PC: How to fix it
The following workarounds will help you fix this issue. Try all of them and see which ones are helpful to you.
Turn off Anti-Aliasing –
If you are somehow able to get in on the game, we suggest that you turn off anti-aliasing in the in-game settings. This is what some players did to fix this crashing issue so try this. Additionally, you can also try switching AA from TSAA to FXAA. However, if the game keeps crashing, switch to another workaround.
Repair game files –
Sometimes when a game has some missing or corrupted game files, issues like this one become common. In such cases, the only way to fix this is by repairing the game files. So, open Steam, and right-click on Palworld from the Steam Library. Next, select Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. Once the files are repaired, launch the game and see if the issue continues.
Run as administrator –
A somewhat common fix for this issue also seems to be running the game as an admin. As such, what we recommend you do is right-click on Palworld’s .exe file or shortcut and select Properties. Next, switch to the Compatibility section and there you will see the Run this program as an administrator option. Checkmark it and then click on Apply and OK.
Use Easy Gamer Utility –
Players can also try using Easy Gamer Utility and see if that helps. So, what we recommend you do is head to this website and then download Easy Gamer Utility. Next, launch the app and switch to the Clean tab. Now, choose the option that’s related to your GPU. If it’s Nvidia, select Clear NVIDIA cache files. If it’s AMD, select Clear AMD cache files. Additionally, you can also select Clear DirectX Shader cache files and find out if that helps too. There’s also a Fix section where you can click on Browse, add Palworld.exe, and select Attempt Fix.
Increase Virtual Memory –
Increasing the virtual memory could also help with this issue, so give it a try. For this one, all you need to do is:
- Open File Manager > This PC and then right-click to select Properties.
- Next, select Advanced System Settings. When a new window opens, you will find yourself in the Advanced tab. Click on Settings under Performance.
- Another new window will open up. Switch to the Advanced tab in the new window, and click on Change under Virtual Memory.
- Now, uncheck Automatically manage paging file size and select your system drive.
- Click on Custom size and set the Initial size (MB) to 1.5x of your physical RAM. For the Maximum size, select 3x of your RAM.
- End the process by clicking on Set and OK.
Update your GPU drivers –
We highly recommend that players update their GPU drivers. If you haven’t updated your GPU drivers in a while, do so, cause that can also be a cause behind this issue. To update your GPU drivers, you can either head to the GPU manufacturer’s official website or use the GPU companion application. Also, if you happen to be running other apps or services besides Palworld, close them. This will help your PC to allocate more resources to the game which could make Palworld run without crashing at the launch.
