Palia developers have just dropped the latest patch for the game, patch 0.166, and it includes loads of additions that are surely going to make the game a lot more fun. From new outfits to UI improvements and new quests, the list is endless. But the highlight of the patch and this guide is pets! Yes, this new patch has also brought pets into the world of Palia. So, what are they, and how to get them? Well, keep reading to learn everything.
According to the developers, they initially aimed to introduce pets right from the beginning of the Beta phase but required some additional time to make sure everything was just right. In appreciation for the incredible support that players have shown during this journey, the developers are delighted to present the addition of pets. With that out of the way, let us see what pets have been added and how to get them in Palia.
Palia: How to get Pets
As of writing this article, there is just one pet called the “Palcat” in Palia. The good thing is that it has four different variations: the Sandy Palcat, the Snowy Palcat, the Island Palcat, and the Nocturnal Palcat. So, how do you get them? Well, to get started, open your inventory and head to the Premium Store by clicking on the designated tab. In the Premium Store, you’ll need to spend Palia Coins. The Sandy Pal Cat can be acquired by making any in-game purchase of Palia Coins; by this, we mean purchases made by spending real-world money. As for the other three, well, for them, you’ll need to spend a total of at least three thousand Palia Coins. These Palia Coins are the in-game currency. Keep in mind that if you have already spent that much on a previous purchase, you will immediately have access to the pets upon logging in to the game.
After you have unlocked a Palcat, navigate back to your inventory to find your newly acquired pets. Click on the Pets tab to see them all. You can also press the “Y” key to summon or dismiss them. Now, keep in mind that these Palcats are nothing but pets that are just going to follow you around on the map. Don’t expect them to stand by your side, defending against enemies. To put it simply, these pets don’t seem to perform any specific actions other than adding a delightful touch to your gameplay. And finally, some players have found the pets to be a bit buggy at times. If the same happens to you, relax, the game is still in open beta, so exercise some patience and let the devs fix these minor issues.
And there you have it. That is all the information we have to share on this matter. You should now be able to get your own Palcat in Palia. We hope this guide was informative.
