Finally, fans got to see Oden’s meeting with Whitebeard. One Piece Chapter 964 highlighted the part of Oden’s past when he met Whitebeard. In the chapter, when Oden met Whitebeard and asked for sailing with him, Whitebeard denied his wish. Also, his retainers refrained him to do so because of the law of Wano.
After two weeks when Whitebeard Pirates set sail for leaving Wano, Oden caught Moby Dick with chain. Izu, Inu and Neko followed him and were surviving in the sea on him. Then, Whitebeard challenged Oden to stay hanging in the sea for three days for getting aboard, but Oden left the chain during the last hour.
He did this so to save a lady who was shouting at a nearby island. She was none other than Toki, who was interesting to go to Wano. Meanwhile, after seeing Oden’s action for saving a woman, Whitebeard allowed him to his fleet and made him an official member along with others. In the end, Toki revealed herself as a person from the past. The chapter ended with Gold Roger, Shanks and Buggy reading news of Oden’s escape from Wano to join Whitebeard Pirates.

The next chapter will show Oden, Toki, Izu, Inu and Neko’s journey as members of Whitebeard’s pirates. During the voyage, we will see how Oden fell in love with lady Toki and married her. We may get to know how Toki knew about Wano and why she wanted to want to go there after coming to in future 800 years. One Piece Chapter 965 can be the one where we may witness another legendary meetup i.e. Oden with Gold Roger.
