Windows 7, the preferred operating system for many seems to be facing an issue with a soon to release game, New World whose closed beta test is not working on Windows 7.
New World
New World is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game or MMORPG developed by Amazon game studios and is currently in its closed beta test phase.
The game takes place on a mysterious island Aeternum which has been the source of mythical like stories for thousands of years, you find yourself on the beach of Aeternum after being involved in a deadly ship-wreck leaving you as the sole survivor with no supplies.
Other than real-time PVP in New World, it allows players to join one of three factions, which are the marauders, the syndicate, and the covenant, Through these factions, players can take control of various towns in the game.
The game comes along with various more PVP game modes such as war, a 50 v 50 between attackers, and defenders of a town or settlement.
Invasions, twisted NPC armies of Aeternum will invade a settlement or town and 50 players must rally together to fend them off.
Expeditions, which are essentially dungeons that can be done with 4 of your allies on Aeternum and Outpost rush where teams of 20 players from two different factions fight for control of fortifications and resource.
New World not running on Windows
Players on Windows 7 did not seem to have any issue with running the game during the New World preview from August 25th, 2020 to September 4th, 2020, and as well throughout the duration of the alpha testing phase.
The issue was brought up by players who gained access to the closed beta test and were met with what seems to be a network issue in the server browser where you won’t be able to view any server to join and as well are missing some UI features on the main screen.
No statement or solution has been provided by Amazon game studio currently.
