A Massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that has risen to popularity within the somewhat dry-of-content MMO community is New World, with its release inching closer as the game has now entered the beta testing stage, games such as these are infamous for having pay to win (P2W) content within them but a question on everyone’s mind is if New World is a Free-To-Play game or not?
Is New World Free-to-play or not?
New World is not a free-to-play game nor is it a subscription-based massively multiplayer online game such as elder scrolls, it is, however, a buy-to-play game that is currently available for pre-order on their official site here with a price tag of 49.99$ for the deluxe version and 39.99$ for the standard version.
With the preorder, you will gain access to the current Closed Beta test and as well as some bonus content such as emotes, unique guild crest, and many more items, the full list of what you receive on the basis of which edition you preorder is here.
Is New World pay to win?
Though it is common for MMOs and MMORPGs to be pay to play, as in you have to buy the game, they are also notoriously infamous for being pay to win, in the sense that you can buy content using real-life money that would give you an unfair advantage over other players.
New World will feature an in-game store however this is purely cosmetic and allows players to give their characters a customized or personal look.
No items in this store will in any way give a player any form of an advantage over others who do not possess that item and is purely to improve the player’s quality of life experience in the game.
