Amazon recently adventured into the gaming sector with its gaming studio, Amazon game studios, they announced a massively multiplayer online role-playing game called New World. The game was initially announced sometime in 2019, and ever since then, it’s been having an embarrassing rollout for such a large organization backing a game.
The constant issues and overpowered weapons during the beta testing phase, the lack of listening to the communities concerns, and even making it a pay to win the game but then thankfully going back on that decision after the severe backlash.
The newest issue which has come to light just a few days before the official release of New World, which is set for September 28, 2021, is that there will be no SEA servers released.
We can confirm that there will not be dedicated SEA servers.

This is quite unfortunate and obviously very infuriating for those who play on the SEA region servers as they have supported the project since 2019 and a studio being back by Amazon definitely has the capabilities to add them.
This sparked many players who wanted the SEA servers to start a petition for Amazon Game Studio’s to add them, which in all honesty we believe is fair, the developers should’ve mentioned from the beginning that they didn’t intend on adding SEA servers and this would’ve kept many players who wouldn’t be able to handle the high ping and connectivity issues from pre-ordering the game.
A link to the petition is here if you wish to sign it. We should however also mention to all the players who are reading this and are also looking forward to having a SEA server, that the developers of New World will be releasing a server for the SEA region however this will come sometime after release, the reasoning as to why they aren’t releasing a SEA server with the official game release is still unknown.
