Despite passionate pleas from the community (with players requesting Enter the Gungeon-style ultra-wide support), the original Neon Abyss did not add those extra pixels. Some players reported getting 2560×1080 working through workarounds, but it’s hit-or-miss at best.
The players had other problems with resolution as well, such as struggling with basic 1440p support, often needing controller input tricks just to access higher resolutions. One frustrated gamer noted their 4K monitor could only manage a measly 1920×1080 window.
As Neon Abyss 2 enters Early Access, the ultra-wide community holds its breath. Will developers finally embrace the widescreen revolution, or will those black bars continue haunting our peripheral vision?
Neon Abyss 2 Ultra-wide support: When is it arriving?
While the game is in Early Access (prime time for feature additions), the hope for ultra-wide support in the game is still alive. The gaming community has been vocal about wanting proper 21:9 support since day one of the original game. Considering quick responses from the developers regarding bugs and regular follow-ups. We might as well start expecting that they will add ultra-wide support too.
If users flood the Steam forums and reviews with requests for ultra-wide support now, there’s a decent shot it could happen. Someone from the developers’ team updated on the Steam community that while there is no certainty, they are working to add this feature.
But let’s be real, the original game never got ultra-wide support despite years of requests. Will lightning strike twice, or will Neon Abyss 2 break the cycle? Only the developers know for sure, and they’re not talking—yet.
Is there any mod or workaround available?
There’s a glimmer of hope with tris790’s NeonAbyssModLoader on GitHub, for Neon Abyss. However, there is no word about any mods for the sequel, Neon Abyss 2. Therefore, for now, most players will be limited to the standard resolution.
That will be all for this article, but we are keeping track of developers’ every move and will update soon. As soon as any news about ultra-wide resolution is announced, Digistatement will be the first website to cover it. For more related content and other interesting topics, visit and follow us.
