Developer Angela Game’s multiplayer war sandbox title – Myth of Empires, is now available for purchase on Steam. After getting delisted in 2021, MoE v1.0 made its Steam debut just recently, on February 22, 2024. Player numbers are looking quite good, with Steam seeing a 24-hour peak of about 31,402 players alone at the time of publishing this (data sourced from Steam Charts). There happens to be a lot of curiosity surrounding the game right now, and something many want to know is whether Myth of Empires supports mods, HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS.

Things like modding, HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, and upscaling technologies are some of the most important features that players look for in a game. However, not all games come included with all of these. Why? Well, developers have their own reasons for not adding one or another feature, ranging from game engine limitations to some other thing being on the priority list. And that’s why many players prefer knowing if the game they want to play supports the previously mentioned features. So, what’s the case with Myth of Empires? Can you play it with mods, HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS? Well, let’s go ahead and find out!!

Well, players should be happy to know that they can absolutely play Myth of Empires with mods. The game has full Steam Workshop support and there are already some mods available to download for it. And in case you want to create a mod for Myth of Empires yourself, then submit an application here to get the devkit. Along with mods, the game also has native HDR support. The Steam page of the game itself mentions that.

Players can also enjoy Myth of Empires in ultrawide and super ultrawide. But there’s a problem. A lot of players have been complaining about the game zooming in on the character too much in ultrawide. That, along with there not being a way to adjust FOV, is making it hard for players to enjoy Myth of Empires on ultrawide and super ultrawide. Luckily, there’s a fix for this issue. All you have to do is navigate to where the Engine.ini file is located at – C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\MOE\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\Engine.ini. Once found, open the file with a text editor and add the following line at the bottom:

  • [/Script/Engine.LocalPlayer]
  • AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV

After adding these lines, save the changes and exit the file. Once done, launch the game and then check if the FOV issue is fixed.

Now, let’s talk about AMD FSR 3 and DLSS. Currently, Myth of Empires only supports DLSS. There used to be an FSR option too in the game, but for some reason, developer Angela Game removed it. However, if FSR is added later to the game, we will be sure to let our readers know all about it.

And that’s all the information we have on this. Additionally, you can also take a quick look here if you want to know whether you can play Myth of Empires on the Steam Deck, Legion Go, or Rog Ally.
