The Redmi Note series has always been one of Xiaomi’s most popular product lines, and for good reason: It continues to bring high-end features to affordable price points. Last year’s Note 8 series continued this trend. The Note 8 Pro stood out with features like a 64MP main camera, a big 4500mAh battery and a FHD+ display. It had a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340. Powering all of this is a MediaTek Helio G90T and up to 8GB of RAM. Running on top of all of this was Xiaomi’s custom Android skin, MIUI 11. It was later updated to Android 10 and was eligible for an update MIUI 12.
Now MIUI 12 was revealed just a month later with a ton of new features and customisations. While it has made its way to several other devices, Note 8 Pro users have still been eagerly waiting for it. Earlier in July Xiaomi had started randomly pushing out the MIUI 12 beta to Redmi Note 8 users. But this was only for global users who were part of the Mi Pilot Programme. Later in July, pilot testers in India also received the stable MIUI 12 updates for their Note 8 Pro devices. Around the same time, Xiaomi also started pushing out MIUI 12 China Stable Beta to random Note 8 Pro users.
And today Xiaomi has finally released MIUI 12 China Stable ROM V12.0.2.0.QGGCNXM for Redmi Note 8 Pro users. The update will be pushed via OTA and it will be rolling out to all Chinese Redmi Note 8 Pro devices. Users will be able to enjoy new features like improved privacy controls and floating windows. Dark mode has been overhauled and there is a new system font. The complete changelog is given below.
