Calibrated sculk sensor in Minecraft

The 1.20 update for Minecraft went live on June 7, 2023, and there’s so much yet to unfold about the game. Mojang continues to impress the players with exciting new content as well as expanding the existing features and items. The expansions, in particular, have shown great potential, and players are already in love with what the update has to offer. Consider the Sculk Sensor, for that matter. It was already a great means for detecting vibrations and activating sculk shriekers. However, in the 1.20 update, the developers added a new block that has even surpassed the Sculk Sensor. Yes, if you’re thinking of the Calibrated Sculk Sensor, you’ve got it right. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to get, and craft the Calibrated Sculk Sensor in Minecraft.

The Calibrated Sculk Sensor is practically a buffed-up version of the sculk sensor. This means it can do everything that you expect of the Sculk sensor in a better way. For example, consider the vibration sensing capabilities. While sculk sensors can detect vibrations from 8 blocks away, Calibrated Sculk sensors literally have a radius double the size. Apart from this, this sensor can also “listen to” certain signals depending on their frequency. You can adjust the signal frequency that you want the device to capture, and it’ll only read that frequency. Everything considered, this is a great gadget to have in Minecraft. So let’s get into the details of how to craft it in the game.

How to Craft Calibrated Sculk Sensor in Minecraft?

Calibrated sculk sensor in Minecraft

In order to craft this block in the game, you will need two different items: A Sculk Sensor, and 3x Amethyst Shards.

Collecting sculk sensors

If you’re a long-time Minecraft player, then acquiring the Sculk sensor won’t be a tough job for you. You can find this item in the Deep Dark biome as well as in ancient cities. To mine the sculk sensor, you’d need a tool (a pickaxe or axe) that’s been enchanted with the Silk Touch. With this tool, you can mine and collect the sculk sensor and keep it in your inventory.

Collecting Amethyst shards

You should be able to find an Amethyst geode if you search in the caves. Once you find the Amethyst geode, you can break the Amethyst cluster using a pickaxe or similar tools to get Amethyst shards. If you want more shards, you should consider using the Fortune enchantment on your pickaxe, as it helps acquire the most number of shards while breaking down an Amethyst cluster.

Crafting the calibrated sculk sensor

Once you have one sculk sensor and three Amethyst shards, it’s time to craft the Calibrated Sculk Sensor. On your crafting table, place the sculk sensor at the very center (the second block of the second row). Then, place two shards on both sides and one shard in the second block of the first row, right on top of the sculk sensor. Crafting in this formation will provide you with one Calibrated Sculk Sensor. Move the item to your inventory to collect it, and you’re good to go.

So this is all about crafting a Calibrated Sculk Sensor in Minecraft. Hopefully, you’ll find this guide helpful. For more such gaming-related content, please stay tuned to DigiStatement!
