Xiaomi’s Mi Mix series has always been a pioneer in design a build quality. The original Mi Mix launched in 2016 was built out of ceramic and an edge-to-edge display. It was able to achieve this by shoving the front camera into the chin. This did mean that that it had a thick chin and a front camera that looked up your nose. But it nevertheless looked super cool and futuristic back then.
The Mi Mix 3 was launched in 2019 and continued the tradition of having a great design and an edge-to-edge screen. This time it even managed to have a slim chin. It did this by having a sliding display, where you could quickly slide down the display to reveal its front cameras. Along with the unique design, it also had top-notch specifications. The screen was 6.39-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2340. Powering all of this was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with up to 10GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
For its camera setup, it had dual cameras at the back with a 12MP main camera and a 12MP telephoto. In the front, it had a 24MP camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor. Powering all of this was a 3200mAh battery. It launched with MIUI 11 based on Android 9. Later, it also received the Android 10 update. Mi Mix 3 users have no doubt been waiting to receive the MIUI 12 update since its release this year.
And looks like Mi Mix 3 users in China will not have to wait anymore since Xiaomi has finally released it for them. Mi Mix 3 China Stable MIUI 12 (V12.0.1.0.QEECNXM) Recovery ROM is now available to download. We hope that this means that Mi Mix 3 devices in other regions too will start receiving the update soon.
