After facing years of protest against illegal digital distribution of manga scans, Mangastream has decided to shut down scanlations completely. The website bid farewell to the readers after a decade of service. Following Mangastream, Jaminisbox also decided to put an end to scanlations of WSJ titles to support legal and noble means of reading manga.
Twitter and Reddit have been flooded with users’ reaction. Many are sad from this news, and many are supporting the action of Mangastream. They are appraising Mangastream for helping in making the industry more professional.
Mangastream Alternatives
With the shutdown of the scanlations, users are in vain and searching for Mangastream and JaminisBox alternatives.
Since Mangastream and JaminisBox were only sites that translate manga scans, there is no alternative site that provides translated scans. From now translated scans of the latest chapters will be posted only by an official source, i.e. Mangaplus.
Mangaplus is the official site of Shueisha for manga and reading on it may cost you some penny as it is not a free site. Sites like Mangadex, Mangapanda, Kissmanga and Mangakakalot may provide the chapters for free. But, the chapters won’t be available on them until the official release on Mangaplus.
Now, it’s up to you on which platform you want to read the manga. As far as concerned, we support the action of Mangastream and JaminisBox and promote only legal and noble means.
