Unfortunately for KH-HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX players, there isn’t any official fix available for the low FPS issue as of now. However, don’t give up hope. We have listed a few workarounds for you that you can use to try to solve the issue. So, here goes.

Limit In-Game FPS

The game becomes really choppy if you run it at 120 FPS. You can limit the FPS to 60 and check if that helps your cause. Steam user Blind said that you need to do it via the Nvidia Control Panel (if you have an Nvidia GPU).

Limiting FPS in the Nvidia Control Panel
  • Right-click on your desktop and open the Nvidia Control Panel.
  • Select Manage 3D Settings and go to Program Settings.
  • Locate Kingdom Hearts-HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX in the list. If you don’t find the game, then click on Add and add the game’s .exe file.
  • Now, navigate to the Max Frame Rate option and set it at 60.
  • Click on Apply to save your changes.

Note: If you have an AMD GPU system, you can do the same using the AMD Radeon GPU Companion application.

Run the Game in Borderless Windowed Mode

  • Open your Steam client and go to Library.
  • Locate Kingdom Hearts-HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX from the list of games and right-click on it.
  • Go to Properties.
  • Now, click on Set Launch Options, and in the textbox, type -popupwindow.
  • Click on OK and then Close.
  • Alternatively, you can use these prompts to run the game in borderless windowed mode: -windowed -noborder.

Disable G-Sync or FreeSync

  • Now you can run the game and see if the issue persists.
Disabling Freesync
  • Open the AMD Radeon software and go to Gaming.
  • Go to the Games tab.
  • Now, select the application profile for Kingdom Hearts-HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX. If you don’t know how to create the application profile for specific games, click here.
