The popularity of the first Kingdom Come Deliverance game has led to the release of the much-awaited sequel, Kingdom Come Deliverance II. The initial reception of the game has been huge, with over 3K positive reviews on Steam at the time of writing this and a little over 90K concurrent players on Steam itself. From this, it is evident that the game is a success. But this doesn’t mean it is not without its fair share of issues. While we aren’t implying literal issues that players are facing in the game, we are, in fact, more focused on the lack of a manual/quick save option in the game that even players of the previous title complained about. Anyway, if you too are wondering how to create a manual save in Kingdom Come Deliverance II, this is just the guide you need.
Similar to the previous game, in Kingdom Come Deliverance II, you can craft and consume Saviour Schnapps to save your progress to exactly the point you want. The next way to save is the dedicated Save and Exit button in the game’s pause menu. And, lastly, the sleep feature saves your in-game progress when you find a permanent bed to sleep on. There’s also the autosave feature that kicks in after fights and cutscenes. But what if you want to save your progress at a specific point and are out of Saviour Schnapps? In that case, there is no in-game mechanic that will let you save your progress. However, if you are ok with a bit of tinkering with the game files or using mods, then consider reading this guide till the end.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: How to manual save (Quick Save)
In most modern games, an option to create a manual save at any instance is present. However, in KCD 2, the developers decided to continue with the much-criticized save system from the previous game. Anyway, there are workarounds you can use to get access to the manual save feature. How? More details are shared below.
Use developer command console
For this workaround, you will need to enable the dev console in-game. To do this, open Steam and then go to Library. Now, right-click on KCD 2 and select Properties. Now, in the General tab, find the Launch Options textbox and enter the following command: “-devmode”. Once done, launch the game and then start your save. While in-game, press the ~ key on your keyboard to bring up the dev console. Now, enter the following command: “wh_sys_NoSavePotion = 1”. This will enable you to save anytime.
Mods
There is also the modding route that does all the heavy lifting for you. Developed by EddieShoe, the Ultimate Saving II mod is the one you need to enable manual save in KCD 2. Installing this is pretty easy as well. Simply head over to the NexusMods webpage and download the mod. You can click here for the same. Once downloaded, extract the mod folder and copy its contents. Now, head over to the game’s installation directory: Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance2. Here, create a new folder named Mods. Paste the copied content into this folder. After the installation is done, launch the game and then press the F5 button in-game to test whether the mod works.
