Chapter 649 Recap
In Chapter 649, the whole Zhao vs Qin battle is happening at multiple fronts but Zhao has poured in everything to defend Kantan. Karyo Ten has instructed Shin and others to fall back as the best Generals of Zhao have congregated here to hold Qin forces.
ShouHeiKun on the other hand knows of Qin’s perilous situation if they remove forces from any side, they leave it to be taken for free. Gyou is the biggest issue if Wei forces take Gyou they get direct access to the battle and will parry back Qin forces. ShouHeiKun has decided to make an unlikely alliance with Wei.
In the Wei Capital, Gouhoumei rejects Qin’s proposal but falters when he listens to the full condition. Qin is offering up Juuko City from Chu, a very important stronghold in the middle of Zhao, Wei & Chu. This 3-year alliance will help Wei-Qin to defeat Chu then Zhao.

- The alliance between Qin and Wei will always be on a loose thread because both cannot easily trust each other.
- Qin-Wei alliance will eventually overpower the stronghold of Zhao and lead to an onslaught. What will interesting be the fight vs Chu.
- The rich economy of Wei will help Qin a lot and they both will benefit from the peace for at least 3-years.
- Excited to see how the difference in militaristic ideologies of Wei-Qin plays out. Gouhoumei with Moubo will be a cool scene for sure.
- Of course, we are jumping the gun here and believing that Wei has said yes to the alliance.
- We might see Qin-Wei alliance being a set-up for a big betrayal at the end but it will be cool to see how the other side reacts.
