Kimetsu No Yaiba Chapter 188 is out online, and it was a way off than everyone was thinking of. Instead of continuing Tanjiro’s illusion, the chapter came back to the present timeline where pillars were having a tough time against Muzan. Muzan was holding back them just with his slashes.
Mitsuri was the one who was hurt badly from the demon progenitor’s slashes. Despite her injuries, she was trying to support other pillars, but Obanai Iguro ordered a slayer to take her to Yushiro for treating her. But Mitsuri was worried the Obanai would go all out against Muzan and she was right. Obanai was thinking of fighting with all his will till death for atonement of his sins. He blamed himself for having a corrupted bloodline and said “I wish that you and I had met under normal circumstance,” Unless I die and get a different body in which this filthy blood does not flow, I have no right to be with you.”
Onabai’s backstory was also featured in the chapter. He was from a very luxurious and rich family where all members were female except him. Actually, the clan made an agreement with the snake demoness. They feed her all males born in their clan in exchange for keeping all wealth of victims killed by her. Obanai was only one alive because the demon was interested in him because of his eyes. However, Obanai managed to escape from the demon, and when she pursued him, the flame pillar killed her and saved him and his cousin. His cousin blamed him for the death of his relative, which grew hatred in him against his bloodline.
Kimetsu No Yaiba Chapter 189
Finally, Kimetsu No Yaiba got a backstory that everyone was waiting for. Everyone was asking why Oabanai’ doesn’t confess his love to Mitsuri now we got an answer to it. Coming to the next chapter, we may see Oabanai going all out to hold out Muzan. He may have something under his sleeves to shook off Muzan, but in the end result gonna be same as only one to kill Muzan is Tanjiro. On the other hand, the chapter will continue with the last portion of Tanjiro’s illusion and maybe we see him wake with help of Nezuko.
Since there is a national holiday this weekend in Japan, Kimetsu No Yaiba Chapter 189 is going to release on January 6.
