Synopsis of Jetpack Joyride
The game begins with a short backstory of Barry. He works as a salesman in a gramophone manufacturing company. As the sales are low, his company is about to go bankrupt. Stooping is head low, walking down the street, he comes across the “mysterious laboratory”. Spotting the jetpack, he steals it intending to do good. Thus, the game begins.
Controls
The character of Barry Steakfries is controlled by a simple joystick. The player can fire the jetpack by pressing anywhere on the screen. To stop the boost, he has to let go of the screen. The game only allows the player to control the vertical axis of the character.
The main objective of the game is to travel as long as possible and collect coins along the way. This increases the points earned. While flying, Barry has to dodge hurdles like missiles, zappers, and high-intensity lasers. During the run, players can collect spin tokens. These tokens can either be cashed out for 50 coins or used in the slot machine.
The slot machine provides prizes varying in type. You can get anything like coins, additional spin tokens, head-start, or explosives. During the run, Barry can also collect rainbow-colored boxes. This box equips Barry with a vehicle that is functional until it hits an obstacle.
