JDM or Japanese Drift Master, is the latest racing simulation game from Gaming Factory that features the car culture of Japan. It’s all about drifting your way to progress the story, but not every player is fortunate enough to play the game without any issues. Recent reports from some players have brought to light the fact that the game gets softlocked in Chapter 5 due to a floating car issue. So, if you too are encountering the same and are wondering whether there is a fix available for this problem, this is just the guide you need.
Currently, there is no information on why this issue occurs, but from what we know, your selected car will be floating in the air at the start of the race. You will not be able to control it. Restarting the race is the only option you can avail, but players did mention that the issue persists. So, what can be done? Is there any fix yet? Have the developers acknowledged it? More details on this matter are shared below.

JDM Japanese Drift Master Floating Car Issue: Is there any fix yet
One piece of good news is that the developers are aware of this issue. In response to a Steam discussion post shared by a player facing the issue, developer Neptuned_GF stated the following:
We’re looking at both issues. Thanks for the bug report and the feedback and sorry for the poor experience.
So, we are expecting an official fix for this issue soon. But since there is no information on when an update will be released, all you can do now is wait. While you wait, you can try the one and only tried and tested workaround that has worked for some.
Switch Cars
Suppose you are using your primary car in the game for every race but in Chapter 5, the floating car issues makes it impossible to start the race. In that case, you should try switching between the available cars in your garage and then check whether the issue persists. Players did mention that switching cars fixed the issue for them so you can give this workaround a try.
There’s also a chatter referring to the fact that the S2000 car is unplayable in Chapter 5. So, if you are using it, switch, and the issue should no longer trouble you.
