On July 14, 2023, Bulgarian video game development studio Haemimont Games and publisher THQ Nordic finally released the next mainline entry of the Jagged Alliance series. Simply titled Jagged Alliance 3, it’s only available for Windows right now. The general reception of the game has been quite positive from both fans and critics alike, with high praise going towards its combat and gameplay mechanics. All in all, it is a worthy successor to 1999’s Jagged Alliance 2. The game went through several delays after being announced back in 2004, but it’s finally here now in all its glory. That said, if you are reading this guide, you must want to know where your in-game progression of Jagged Alliance 3 is saved on your system. If so, continue reading until the end for all the details.
One of the many advantages of a game being available on the PC platform is that the user has pretty much all-around access to the game’s files. The freedom to move around game files, mess around with configurations, and such is something you don’t get on consoles. Now, having knowledge of where the save files of your games are located can be particularly helpful in certain cases. Situations like creating a local backup of your saved files, deleting corrupted ones, and such are just some of the many instances where this knowledge might be of tremendous help. And so, here’s a guide sharing details on where the saved files of Jagged Alliance 3 are located.
Jagged Alliance 3 Save File Location: Where it is
Finding the save file location of Jagged Alliance 3 is pretty easy, to be honest. Follow the steps given below, and you will know the location of your saved files in no time.
- First and foremost, open the File Explorer.
- Now, open the C drive.
Note: Open the C drive only if there was a default installation of Jagged Alliance 3. If you have custom installed the game on a different drive, then select that one. But in most cases, the C drive is usually the recommended drive for any kind of installation.
- In the C drive, open the folder named Users.
- Now, open the folder with your username on it. Inside it, there will be a bunch of folders, which you can ignore except for one – AppData. If you can’t find that specific folder, then, on the top, click on View and checkmark the Hidden Items option.
- Open the AppData folder, then find and navigate to the folder named Roaming. Here, you will find all your installed game folders, including Jagged Alliance 3. So, head inside the Jagged Alliance 3 folder.
- This is where your in-game progression of the game is stored.
So, if you want to make a local backup of your saved files, head to the given location and copy and paste the saved files to another location. You can also find the config files of the game in the same directory. That said, we hope this guide was able to provide you with all the information you needed.
