There are a lot of great games slated to release this year and developer Game Island’s Serum happens to be one of them. Scheduled for a Q2 2024 early access release on Steam, Serum is a survival adventure title where you will need to extract and unravel the mystery of the Serum, all while fighting various creatures while also trying to survive. Now, while the game is already confirmed for a PC release, many fans want to know when the game will be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
Serum has quite an interesting premise, which of course has helped in roping in more new fans to it. While the survival adventure genre is already jam-packed with a plethora of games, new games in the genre are still being released and even managing to achieve a pretty respectable player base. However, for something like that to happen, a game needs to be unique and fun to play. These are two factors many believe Serum potentially has. As a result, many want to know when they will be able to play the game on the consoles. So, let’s go ahead and find out all about that.
Is there a Serum game PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch Release Date
As of now, developer Game Island’s upcoming title, Serum, is only scheduled for a PC release. Furthermore, so far there haven’t been any announcements or info made available on it coming to consoles, so it’s safe to say that the game will only be available for PC at the time of its early access launch in Q2 2024.
Now, this isn’t to say that there’s no possibility of Serum heading to consoles. It might, but only after its early access period is over. One of the game developers also stated this, responding to a player query:
Yes, you will be able to team up with friends 🙂 We are currently developing the game for PC only, but we’d love to release it on consoles in the future.
Another response from the developer:
Hi prada! Thanks for speaking out about this. We’re not saying no to console versions, but since the game is launching in Early Access, our focus is PC until the final version of the game is ready.
And if you look at the game’s Steam page FAQ section, it clearly states, “SERUM will be in early access for roughly twelve months until we’ll launch Version 1.0.” So, based on this, the SERUM will most likely get a PS, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch (highly unlikely) port in 2025 or later.
Note: The information provided here is based on speculation, so take this with a pinch of salt.
While there’s still some time until the game gets released as an early access title on Steam, PC fans can try the game right now thanks to Steam Next Fest. Players will be able to enjoy the SERUM demo from the 5th of February until the 12th for free. So, download and install the demo on your PC and enjoy it while you can. If the developers do announce or share more information on the game’s console release, we will be sure to let you know.
