2024 has already seen some great games like Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Palworld, Tekken 8, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. And all this is just at the beginning of 2024. There are an incredible number of upcoming games to be released this year and beyond. And of course, this also includes the subject of this article, Phantom Blade Zero. Fans are quite excited about the game’s release and also happen to be quite curious to know everything possible about it. This also includes the game’s release date on consoles, if any.
For the uninitiated, Phantom Blade Zero is a kungfupunk action RPG from the Chinese video game development studio – S-Game. Set in the Phantom World universe, it’s a wuxia story and happens to be the “rebirth” of an old S-Game title called Rainblood 2D. Officially announced back in 2023, the game has garnered a huge following thanks to the Phantom Blade anime and the mobile game. So, when is Phantom Blade Zero heading to consoles? Is there a Phantom Blade Zero PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch Release Date
As of now, developer S-Game’s Phantom Blade Zero doesn’t really have a release date. However, the game did receive a special trailer, Phantom Blade Zero “Year of the Dragon”: Rain and Blood, on February 2, 2024, which announced that PBZ will be getting a playable demo soon and within this year. Now, while the recent trailer didn’t mention what platforms this demo will be available on, we do know that the game is being developed for PC and PS5. As such, it’s likely that you will be able to enjoy the demo on these previously mentioned platforms only.
Besides what we said earlier, you also need to know that Phantom Blade Zero is a PS5-exclusive title, so it’s safe to say that you won’t be seeing it on other consoles. Even the PS4 isn’t going to receive the game so forget about Xbox or Nintendo consoles. So, if you want to enjoy Phantom Blade Zero on a platform other than the PS5, then a PC is your best option.
Now, as we stated before, it’s unclear when Phantom Blade Zero will be released. But from what we can deduce from this latest upcoming demo announcement, it seems like Phantom Blade Zero isn’t going to be released this year, but rather in 2025 or even in 2026. But take all this with a grain of salt, as nothing has been confirmed so far. However, if we do get more information on a solid release date, we will be sure to let you know about it. Until then, just wait for the demo and see if you like it as much as you thought you would.
