Layers of Fear (2023) release date

Layers of Fear (2016) and Layers of Fear 2 are indeed quite popular psychological horror games. If you’re a fan of the series, then we have great news for you. Developed by Bloober Team and Anshar Studios and to be published by Bloober Team SA, the latest remake, Layers of Fear, is set to come out on June 15, 2023. Considering the popularity of the first two games, the developers have decided to release the upcoming title on multiple platforms as well; however, it is limited to the current-gen consoles and PC. Layers of Fear (2023) is coming out on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. For PC players, the game will be available via Steam, and Epic Games. However, will players on previous-gen consoles be able to access it? Consider reading this article till the end to find out if there’s a PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch release date for Layers of Fear (2023).

If you enjoyed the first two games of the series, then you have to explore Layers of Fear (2023). This latest game draws most of its in-game elements from its two predecessors and invites the players on a horrifying psychological horror journey. The game not only connects the storylines from the last two games but, in fact, expands on them. Visually, the game is going to be a masterpiece with its Ray Tracing technology, HDR graphics, 4K resolution, and dynamic lighting. So, will PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch players miss out on this immersive gaming experience? Let’s find out!

Is There a PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch Date for Layers of Fear (2023)?

Release date for Layers of Fear

The developers, Bloober Team, revealed the release date for Layers of Fear (2023) in the recently released cinematic trailer featured in Future Games Show 2023. In the same video, they revealed the platforms on which the game is going to be available (although the reveal trailer back in 2022 mentioned the same). Notably, there was no mention of a PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch release for the game. This, indeed, has become a trend where the developers are avoiding previous-gen consoles while releasing new titles. These latest games are integrated with high-quality visuals, features, and gameplay mechanics, which the previous generations of consoles might not be able to handle efficiently. Thus, for a better overall experience, the developers are launching their projects exclusively for PCs and current-gen consoles.

Well, as of now, it appears that Layers of Fear (2023) is going to be yet another title that will not receive a PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch port. This is, in fact, quite understandable, as mentioned earlier, since the game is going to feature high-quality visuals. However, if it captures the interest of the fans, then the scenario might change. Especially if the fans keep pushing for it and demand previous-generation ports, then the developers at Bloober Team might consider porting the game to these platforms while making suitable adjustments. This, however, is mere speculation, so make sure to take it with a pinch of salt. Without anything official from the developers, it’s hard to provide more concrete information on this as of now.

So to conclude, everything indicates that there isn’t going to be a PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch release date for Layers of Fear (2023). However, if we receive additional information on the same, we will update this article accordingly. Meanwhile, keep visiting DigiStatement for more updates on the world of gaming!
