Madfinger Games, the Czech video game development studio behind popular mobile titles like Shadowgun Legends, Dead Trigger, and Samurai II: Vengeance, is about to make its debut on PC with the upcoming release of Gray Zone Warfare. Slated for a 2024 early access launch, Gray Zone Warfare is a mil-sim (military simulation) game with a major focus on tactical FPS, extensive weapon customization, and ballistic simulation. Suffice it to say, there’s a lot of excitement around the game. Now, while the game’s already confirmed for PC, many fans want to know when it’s heading for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
A major reason why there are only a few milsims on consoles is because of controls. Save for Insurgency: Sandstorm, Hell Let Loose, and a few other titles, there are not really that many milsims that have made their way over to consoles. The genre is highly focused on the mouse and keyboard as the preferred method of input, as it allows for more customization and such. However, controls can be simplified, provided the developers have plans to do so in the first place. Gray Zone Warfare is looking to be a promising milsim title and as such, there’s a pretty good demand for it on consoles. So, when is it arriving for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
Is there a Gray Zone Warfare PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch Release Date
At the time of publishing this, Gray Zone Warfare hasn’t been confirmed for a PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch release. In a Steam Discussion FAQ post, developer and publisher Madfinger Games clarified that they intend to release the game on PC first.
“Q. What platforms will your new game be playable on?
A. We are starting on PC first. Our goal is to make this game as smooth and polished as possible, so we want to start there and see where our path takes us.”
As you can see, a console release isn’t really planned at the moment, as Madfinger is more focused on ironing out the game. And because there’s no confirmation on a console release right now, we also don’t know what consoles Gray Zone Warfare will be ported to. The game’s just going to enter its early access phase, and in the Early Access FAQ section, Madfinger mentioned that the early access will last for multiple years. So, if you plan on enjoying the game on a console, then unfortunately, you will have to wait for a long while. If we do get any major information on Gray Zone Warfare’s console release, we will be sure to let you know all about it. Till then you will have to suffice with playing Gray Zone Warfare on PC.
And that’s all the information we have on this. Additionally, you can also take a quick look here if you want to know when Project L.3.3.T is heading to consoles. Lastly, keep following DigiStatement for more such content. Also read: Best Controller Settings for Hell Let Loose on PS5, Xbox One & PC
