There’s a Metroidvania renaissance going on right now, and oh, what a wonderful time it is. From Axiom Verge to Ori and The Blind Forest, there are just so many great Metroidvania’s out there. And the renaissance isn’t going to stop anytime soon. BioGun: Clinical Trial is a Metroidvania from Dapper Dog Digital, where players will get to play as Bek, who’s on a mission to save the canine species from the deadly Dooper Virus. The game’s got a PC release on the horizon, but fans now want to know when it’s heading to consoles.
While the main release of the game is still a few months away, BioGun has already got a demo that players can play on Steam. The demo lets players enjoy three main bosses, the first two areas of the game, and even two secret bosses. And so far, from the looks of it, fans seem to be enjoying the demo. This has only made players want to know more about when the game will be arriving on consoles. So, without much further ado, let’s go ahead and find out all about that.
Is there a BioGun Clinical Trial PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch Release Date
At the time of publishing this, developer Dapper Dog Digital hasn’t officially announced anything related to BioGun’s console release date. Certainly, an unfortunate news for fans who were looking to enjoy the game on consoles. However, it does look like the devs have plans for a console release. Back in August 2023, on the official Discord server of the game, one fan asked whether the developers had plans “to make ports to Mac, Linux, and consoles”. The following is what one of the main developers replied:
“There are porting teams that bring construct games to console. We have spoken with some of them. As for a Mac build, there are no promises just yet. We don’t have a Mac to test out a port. Linux may be an option as well but we need a way to test that too.”
As you can guess by that reply, Dapper Dog Digital is fully on board with releasing the game on consoles. However, the issue is when. From the looks of it, it seems like the devs will first release the game on PC and then move on to porting it to consoles if it’s feasible. Even the FAQ posted in the game’s Steam Discussion section gives credence to this. The devs have outlined a full game release in the first quarter of 2024, so players wouldn’t have to wait much longer to hear about a console release. Until then, you can enjoy the free prologue that’s available on Steam.
