When it comes to sim racing, nothing really comes close to iRacing. Released back in 2008, iRacing is a subscription-based sim racing game developed by iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations, LLC. Over the years, it has established itself as the premier sim racing title and has even partnered with NASCAR, Porsche, Federation Internationale de I’Automobile, and many more. One of the main reasons behind its immense popularity is the continuous support provided by the developers in the form of regular content updates and such. And with the release of FSR 3 in 2023, many have been asking when it will be available for the game.
FSR 3 or Fidelity Super Resolution 3 is AMD’s latest iteration of it’s upscaling technology. Like Nvidia’s DLSS and Intel’s XeSS, FSR allows players to enhance visuals without majorly affecting performance. FSR 3 comes with a lot of new features and improvements, and as such, many players want to know when it’s releasing for iRacing. So, continue reading to find out!
iRacing FSR 3 Release Date: When it will be available?
As of now, iRacing developers haven’t announced anything related to FSR 3 being added to the game. It’s unfortunate news to hear, but it is what it is. And from what we have seen so far, there hasn’t been any kind of information or leak that suggests FSR 3 is coming to iRacing. So, in simpler terms, we don’t really know when the game will actually receive support for FSR 3.
Giants Software’s Farm Simulator 22 happens to be the latest game to get FSR 3 along with Frame Generation. Before that, titles like Immortals of Aveum, Forspoken, and Avatars: Frontiers of Pandora were the ones to receive FSR 3. And while the list is pretty small right now, 2024 will see a lot more games adding support for this feature. Unfortunately, we don’t know if iRacing will be one of them. Here are some titles that have been announced to get FSR 3 –
- Black Myth: Wukong
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Eve Online
- Frostpunk 2
- Warhammer Darktide
- Squad
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
- Starfield
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II
- The Alters
- Crimson Desert
- Pax Dei
- Starship Troopers: Extermination
- Warhammer: Realms of Ruin
As for iRacing, there’s still no word on if the devs are planning to add it to the game. This feature is relatively new, having just been released back in September 2023. And after a few months, in December 2023, AMD made FSR 3 open-source. Over time, we are sure that more games will start adding support for FSR 3. And iRacing could be one of these games in the near future. 2024 seems like a good year for introducing this technology to games, but so does 2025. In the end, it’s up to the developers to decide when they want to add it. For now, all you can do is wait.
