IKEA Roblox jobs explained: Past, Present, and current status

IKEA mainly started as a ready-to-use furniture retail shop and still maintains its brand value in several nations. Over the years, the company has had several business ventures such as Design services, smart homes, houses and flats, restaurants and markets, etc. Moreover, to expand its business and spread awareness, it collaborated with Roblox to launch the IKEA Roblox jobs experience. Since Roblox has a large base of young creators and players, this move by the company attracted many energetic teens to work at IKEA. Walmart and Adidas had adopted a similar marketing strategy to advertise their goods. In this article, we have discussed the scope of this job and its current status in the market.

IKEA Roblox jobs explained: Past, Present, and current status

Past

The applications opened on June 3, 2024, and closed on June 16, while the game itself launched on June 24. It was called the co-worker game, which involved paid roles for the people of the UK and the Republic of Ireland. The IKEA Roblox jobs were a part of the ‘Careers done Different’ effort to spread awareness about various opportunities at IKEA. Players in the virtual world did exactly what a regular employee would do at the IKEA store. The job positions included were: Sales co-worker, Interior design co-worker, Sales team leader, and Food team leader. The experience presented the diverse and dynamic roles of an IKEA worker, as they can be assigned any task as per the requirements of the store.

Present

The interested candidates needed to apply on IKEA’s Roblox store official site. They had to submit a questionnaire along with an updated CV. Shortlisted candidates had to appear for an online interview, after which the selected candidates would get hired. The game did not have any official end date; however, it was most active in June 2024, and there have been no hirings since then. According to some sources, around 10 people were hired and paid wages comparable to a real store worker.

Current status

The experience on Roblox does not have an active user base; thus, there are no jobs available. Furthermore, there are no plans to revive it in the future.

That will be all from Digistatement. Don’t fret if you missed your opportunity to apply for this role, as we’ve got you covered.
