Compared to other genres, racing games are quite beginner-friendly. But that doesn’t mean they are easy to master. Once you understand all the nooks and crannies of the game, you will soon realize just how hard it can be. As such, developers try to include helpful features in their games, which makes learning the mechanics easier for new players. After all, a game can’t survive simply on an existing fan base. The Flashback option is one of those useful features. So, how do you use it in F1 23? Let’s find out!
How to use flashback in F1 23 (F1 2023)?
For the uninitiated, Flashback is a neat little feature in F1 games. As the name suggests, when triggered, it will turn back time, which a player can use to reset mistakes and such. It can save you from a race-ending mistake and is honestly one of the few genuinely helpful features in racing games.
Well, one very important thing you should know is that you can’t use Flashback in online mode. Well, this system doesn’t fit right with multiplayer gameplay, which is why it is accessible only in practice or other offline modes. Like previous titles, Flashback in F1 23 can also be set to a particular value. You can change the Flashback Limit to Low, Medium, High, and Unlimited, by accessing the setting in the Simulation settings.
To use Flashback in F1 23, you just need to pause the game when you make a grave mistake in the race. Next, select the Instant Replay option, which will prompt the game to load the last ten or so seconds of gameplay footage. Run back the footage to where you find it comfortable to start again. Press the X/Square button on your controller at that particular point, and you will be loaded back at the point you selected. Do note that different controllers/wheels can have different default keybind for the Flashback action in F1 23. So, you need to first make sure which keybind is set on your particular controller/wheel for the Flashback action, and then use it accordingly.
