Minecraft has been one of the most amazing games to be ever launched. While exploring the map, it is quite common to be lost in the woods or at any other unknown place. When you look around after chasing anything, or just while randomly exploring, and you realize that nothing looks like what you have seen till now. For beginners, this might be a bit challenging as being lost on a map where you don’t know much feels like trouble.

How to make a Locator Map in Minecraft

What are Locator Maps? Locator maps are the maps that show you where you are at the present instance of time and along with a visual description of whatever is near you. You can locate other players who are playing the game along with locating various objects and structures which are near you.

Requirements to create a locator map in Minecraft:

Compass -> A compass is necessary to make the locator map since the compass will be able to show all the directions with accuracy. Compasses in the map can be found in various chests located in the villages. Librarians also usually sell compasses and you can buy one from them if you are able to find one. You can also craft one with the help of a Redstone and 4 iron ingots.

Paper -> Paper is required to create a Locator Map in the game. You require eight pieces of paper for the creation of a single map. All you need to do is to combine the compass with paper. You can spot papers inside chests in villages. They can also be crafted by accumulating 3 sugar canes which are found on the banks of rivers.

Cartography Table -> In order to craft Locator Maps in Minecraft, you need a Cartography Table. Players can make clones and zoom in on any map with the help of the cartography table. You can use these to upgrade your map to varying sizes, along with having the option to lock the map. These blocks can be found inside villages, and they are also craftable.
