SuperTux is a sidescrolling platformer title partially similar to Samurai Gunn and shares many similarities to Mario that includes level design, gameplay and has a decent story. How to install SuperTux on a Chromebook.
If you’re looking forward to playing SuperTux on your Chromebook, but don’t know how, do not worry as our article will help you install the game on your system successfully. To install SuperTux on your Chromebook, you have to turn on Linux apps. To do so, go to System Settings and click on the Advanced section on the left panel. After this, click on the “Developers” option and turn on Linux apps by clicking on the “Turn on” button, and then clicking on Next and finishing the installation process. Now that you’ve enabled Linux apps on your Chromebook, you need to run several commands in the terminal to speed up the process. Here are the commands that you need to enter.
- sudo apt update
- sudo apt install flatpak
- sudo flatpak remote-add –if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
- sudo flatpak install flathub org.supertuxproject.SuperTux
- sudo chown root:root /usr/bin/bwrap && sudo chmod u+s /usr/bin/bwrap
Open the terminal session from the app menu and copy-paste and execute the following command listed above, one by one. You can use the two-finger click on your terminal or click control+shift+v together to paste the commands. Entering these commands will update Linux app repositories.
Well, after entering the first command, wait for it to complete, and enter the second command to install flatpak. Enable the official flathub repository by entering the third command, and then install SuperTux by entering the fourth command. After this, press Enter to confirm installation, and press enter once again. Lastly set the permission for a utility that we need to open the game by using the fifth command.
Now that SuperTux is installed, launch it from the start menu and select “Linux Apps”. Wait for a minute or two to load the game and now you can enjoy SuperTux on your Chromebook.
