How to install Balatro mods on Steam deck?
Before installing the mod, you’ll need to install two additional files. These are the lovely injector and the steamodded. We will first explain the installation process for these:
- Check the OS you are using and install the file suitable for that system.
- On your Steam Deck, go to the downloads folder to find the zip files of each. Extract them to a suitable location.
- Find the home folder in the pane on the left side of the screen. Enable the Show hidden files option. Follow the given directory to locate the Balatro folder: home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/2379780/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Balatro
- Create a folder named ‘Mods’ here and move the extracted ‘smods’ file here. Also, you would get a file named ‘version.dll’ upon extracting Lovely Injector. Move that to the Balatro folder.
- Next, launch Steam and click on Balatro. Find the settings icon for it in the Steam menu itself, then select properties. In the launch options, type the following: WINEDLLOVERRIDES=”version=n,b” %command%

Several Balatro mods are available on GitHub and Nexus Mods. You need to download the mod you are looking for and extract it if they are zipped. Put the extracted files in the same ‘Mods’ folder as ‘smods’.
