Reset your WiFi router –

The PlayStation 4 console being unable to connect properly to the internet is usually a result of your WiFi router. Likewise, the stability, as well as proper functioning of your WiFi router, is necessary for a speedy and consistent internet connection. Therefore, a fix that you can follow to resolve the internet connection issue on your PlayStation 4 is to reset your WiFi router. You can do this by following the steps below:

  1. Firstly, you have to disconnect your PlayStation 4 from your WiFi network.
  2. Next up, you have to unplug your WiFi router from the power supply and leave it like that for about 30 seconds.
  3. Then, you can reconnect the power supply and turn on your WiFi router again.
  4. Finally, you can connect to your WiFi router and see if it fixes the issue.

Use a LAN cable –

A more stable as well as consistent way of connecting to the internet on a PlayStation 4 is by using a LAN cable. Likewise, you can use a LAN cable instead of a wireless WiFi connection to resolve your network connection issues. Therefore, simply plug in your LAN cable and use that as your default internet connection.
You can set up your LAN cable connection by following the steps below:

  1. Firstly, you have to go to your PlayStation 4’s Settings.
  2. Next up, you have to go to Network and select the Set Up Internet Connection option.
  3. Then, you have to select the Use a LAN Cable option and select the Custom option on the next screen.
  4. Now, you have to select Automatic for your IP Address Settings and select Do Not Specify for your DHCP Host Name.
  5. On the DNS Settings page, you have to select Manual and input 1.1.1.1 for your Primary DNS. Likewise, you have to input 1.0.0.1 for your Secondary DNS and hit Next.
  6. You have to then select Manual for your MTU Settings and input 1473 for the MTU.
  7. Lastly, you have to now select the Do Not Use for your Proxy Server option.

Restore to Default Settings –

You can also restore your PlayStation 4 to its default settings. This resets all your network connections and can also resolve the network connection issues. Therefore, you have to set up your network connection again. You can follow the steps below to restore to default settings:

  1. First and foremost, you have to simply go to your PlayStation 4 Home screen.
  2. Next up, you have to go to Settings and go down to the Initialization option.
  3. Then, you have to select the Restore Default Settings option in the Initialization settings.
  4. Finally, you have to wait for a while for your PlayStation 4 console to restore.
