Honkai: Star Rail Effect Hit Rate Explained

Honkai: Star Rail Effect Hit Rate Explained

miHoYo, as a game development studio, continues to show an exemplary amount of dedication to its products. Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd amplified the fact that mobile games can certainly be of high quality. And, with the release of Honkai: Star Rail on April 26, 2023, the Chinese studio has certainly proved that fact again. Star Rail is the newest game from miHoYo and the fourth installment in the long-running Honkai series. In just a couple of weeks, the game has amassed a huge following, thanks to the popularity of both Honkai as a series and miHoYo as the developer. Unlike the previous miHoYo games, Star Rail takes an entirely different approach when it comes to its combat. This is good old turn-based combat, a staple of many gacha games. Now, you might think that this seems boring compared to Genshin and HI 3rd’s more active action combat. We wouldn’t put you at fault for thinking that. But as always, miHoYo found ways to make that turn-based combat interesting and fun. There are so many mechanics like effect hit rate, light cones, and such, that are really fun to learn and execute. All this may seem confusing at first, but we are here to help you with that exactly. Let’s get familiar with what the effect hit rate in Honkai Star Rail is exactly.

Gacha games rely a lot on two things: characters and combat. And in the majority of cases, both of these factors get intertwined. Gacha units are made in conjunction with the combat of the game. All their kits and skills are made so that players are able to get more variety in how they approach a certain combat situation. At times, some units even get broken abilities, making them “meta”. Artoria Caster from FGO and Kazuha from Genshin Impact are some good examples. This is why learning game mechanics is so important, as by doing so, you can understand how a unit functions and how you can exploit its abilities optimally. The effect hit rate is one such important factor in Honkai: Star Rail. Let’s see what it exactly is.

Honkai: Star Rail Effect Hit Rate Explained

In Honkai: Star Rail, there are lots of stats that actively come into play during battles. Effect hit rate is one of them. Essentially, this stat increases the probability of an attack by your character or an ally, inflicting a status effect on the enemy. In simpler words, effect hit rate determines the chance of an enemy getting affected by a status effect when an ally character performs an attack on them.

Status effects like Freeze, Entanglement, Imprisonment, Slow, Shock, and more are debuffs that an enemy can get affected by. A higher effect hit rate will have a much better chance of inflicting a debuff than a lower effect hit rate. However, even if your unit has a 100% effect hit rate, it’s not entirely guaranteed that it will inflict a debuff on the enemy. Effect Resistance is a counter to that stat. That’s why it’s always recommended to have more than a 100% effect hit rate.

If you want to increase the chances of applying negative status to the enemy, increase your effect hit rate even more than 100% with the help of light cones and relics. Anyway, now you know what effect hit rate means in Honkai Star Rail. We hope you find this guide informative. You can also check out other guides on Honkai Star Rail by visiting DigiStatement.
