The first half of 2024 is yet to be over and we have already seen the release of two surprise hits this year. Pocket Pair’s Palworld and Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2 took the gaming world by storm following their respective releases. Helldivers 2 in particular is now Sony PlayStation’s most successful PC launch, outshining critically acclaimed games like God of War, The Last of Us Part 1, and more. Available for PC and PS5, Helldivers 2 is an incredibly enjoyable title and one that offers tons of fun with friends. However, some players, especially newer ones, don’t seem to be aware of how to add friends to the game.
While Helldivers 2 allows players to squad up with random players, that isn’t as fun as killing bugs with your friends. Now, since it’s available for two major platforms and has crossplay capabilities, a lot of players really want to know how they can add their friends to the game. Well, if you are curious to do the same, this guide will be of help. So, let’s go ahead and find out how you can add your friends from both PC and PS5 in Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2: How to add Friends (Crossplay)
The very first thing that you need to do is open Options and then switch to the Social tab. Under the Social tab, there will be some sub-options, along with a Your Friend Code option. Just next to it, you will see the Generate button. Click it and this will generate an eight-digit friend code, which you can use. Once your eight-digit code is generated, send it to your friend and have them send you a friend request. However, if you happen to have a friend code, then, simply type it in the Search box and wait for the game to show your friend’s profile. Once found, select it and send them a friend request by clicking on Send Friend Request. Now, all that remains is to wait for your friend to accept the friend request.
After your request has been accepted, you can switch over to the Friends tab under Social and select your friend’s profile. This will now show you four options: Invite to Squad, Join Squad, Remove Friend, and Block. If you want to invite your friends, use the first option, and if you want to join them, use the second one. And the other two options are pretty self-explanatory.
Now, this is very important. Make sure that you have crossplay enabled if you want to play with your friends on different platforms. For this, all you need to do is open the Options menu and switch to the Gameplay section. Next, on the right side of the screen, you will find the Crossplay sub-option. Go ahead and set it to On.
