Blizzard’s spinoff of the World of Warcraft, Hearthstone is getting a brand new update this May. While this has been known by fans for long, nobody was quite sure when exactly the update itself, or patch notes would be released.
Well, a recent tweet from the Lead Designer (Final Design) of Hearthstone has confirmed that the May 2021 update and its patch notes will be released tomorrow! See the tweet for yourself here.
Along with this major announcement, Alec Dawson also hinted at some of the changes to the game we can expect the update to bring. Firstly, he has confirmed that the Blizzard team has taken out time to look at Quilboar, the minion type as a whole. This is going to be great news for most Hearthstone fans, since the overused cycle of the newest type always dominating may have been brought to an end by this update. At least, that is what fans are hoping this update will bring!
Blizzard has received no small amount of backlash for using the “localization” excuse time and again for its delayed patch notes, but to be fair, it wouldn’t be right for them to release the notes in English and make the international community wait till they can access it. Granted, they could simply translate it, but what sort of message is that sending out to them? No doubt Hearthstone would never want to make such a large base of their users feel neglected!
Well, with that being said, all we can do now is wait for the update and patch notes to release and hope that it fixes the broken minion type so we can all go back to playing the WoW spinoff in peace. Let’s not give Alec Dawson too much flak as well, shall we? He’s doing his best.
Happy Hearthstoning!
