Battle Royale isn’t the most hyped genre these days. In fact, it’s the extraction shooter genre that has taken its place. Over the past few years, a number of developers have started releasing and announcing their own extraction shooters, with Bungie’s Marathon, and Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland being some of the best examples of that. And just last month, on February 15, 2024, developer MY.GAMES also released its free-to-play extraction shooter title called Hawked. Reception to the game so far has been quite mixed due to various technical and performance issues that plagued the game at launch and even continue to do so today. However, the game has potential and is pretty fun to play. And thanks to Hawked being a free-to-play title, there are a lot of new players trying it out. However, it seems like a lot of these players want to know whether they can play the game with mods, HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS.
Players are always going to be curious about the availability of such features as long as a game is on PC. While consoles are a very restrictive platform, PCs are not. And thanks to that, players can enjoy a game with a plethora of features, provided the developers have added them in the first place. So, did MY.GAMES add in modding, HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS support? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
Hawked Mod, HDR, Ultrawide (21:9), Super Ultrawide (32:9), AMD FSR 3 & DLSS Support Details
Well, currently Hawked doesn’t support mods. And that’s to be expected when the game happens to be an online extraction shooter. Even if somehow the developers allow mods in the future, we are pretty sure that it’s going to be limited to cosmetic mods and such. Trying to use mods that give you a gameplay advantage in games like these is strictly prohibited and always leads to bans. Furthermore, the game also doesn’t support HDR. However, there are alternatives that you can use, such as Windows 11’s Auto-HDR, Special K, or autohdr_force. Note that there isn’t any confirmation that any of these alternatives work so you will have to try and see if they work by yourself.
Now, when it comes to ultrawide (21:9) and super ultrawide (32:9) support, seems like the game only supports the former at the moment. So, what about AMD FSR 3 and DLSS? Well, there is an upscaling option available in the game but it’s neither AMD FSR 3 nor DLSS. In fact, Hawked currently supports two upscaling options and both are AMD FSR 1.0 and FSR 2, to be exact. If you are someone who likes using DLSS, then you will need to wait a while, as it’s not exactly on the priority list right now.
Well, that’s all the info we have on this. You can also take a quick look here if you want to know whether Secrets of Grindea also supports similar features.
