GTA 5 Online saw its official launch on October 1, 2013, two weeks after the successful launch of Grand Theft Auto V. For the uninitiated, Sticky Bombs area C-4-like explosives available in both GTA 5 and GTA 5 Online. It’s unlocked at Rank 19 in GTA 5 Online, after which you can purchase it for $600 from Ammu-Nation. Its description in the game goes as follows:
“A plastic explosive charge fitted with a remote detonator. Can be thrown and then detonated or attached to a vehicle then detonated.”

Activate and Detonate Sticky Bomb When on Foot
The very first thing that you need to do is open up your weapon wheel and select the Sticky Bomb from there. Following that, press the left trigger on your controller and aim the bomb at the object you want to stick it to. Next, press R2 to throw the bomb at your targeted object. Time to detonate the bomb. And for that, you need to press the left D-pad button. The moment you do that, your Sticky Bomb will activate and detonate. Note that the button configuration is the same for both PlayStation and Xbox players. As for PC players, just aim using your mouse, throw it on the target, and then press G to detonate the bomb.
Activate and Detonate Sticky Bomb When in Vehicle
When you are inside your vehicle, press L1 to open up the window and aim it at whatever you want to blow it up on. Once you have selected and aimed at your target, press R1 to throw the bomb. Now, just use the left D-pad button (for consoles) or G (for PCs) to blow up the Sticky Bomb.
Remember to not stand close to the bomb when you are ready to detonate. If you do, be ready to take a good amount of damage. Players mostly use these for traps or to clear out a large area. Furthermore, unlike the story mode, you can stick the bomb to pedestrians and even other players in GTA Online. Also, you can only place up to five bombs at a time in GTA Online, compared to 20 in Story Mode.
