The next chapter of the Forza Horizon series is still some time away, but in the meantime, fans are having an absolute blast with Forza Horizon 5. Released back in 2021 for Windows and Xbox consoles, the game continues to receive active support from Playground Games in the form of regular events, major updates, and DLCs. And speaking of events, Playground also added Midnight Battles as part of the 10th Anniversary update back in 2022. Since then, it’s become a favorite among many players. However, it seems like some players, especially the newer ones, don’t know much about this. Don’t worry though. By the end of this guide, you will know everything there’s to know about Midnight Battles in FH5.
For the uninitiated, Midnight Battles aren’t unlocked from the get-go. In fact, a player has to perform certain actions in order to unlock them. Not only are these events fun but they also get you some amazing cars as a reward. So, how do you unlock them in the first place, and where are these Midnight Battles located? Well, here’s all the info you need to know.
Forza Horizon 5 midnight Battle locations & How to unlock them?
There are certain prerequisites that need to be fulfilled if you want to unlock Midnight Battles in Forza Horizon 5. The most important one is to have the Horizon Street Scene Outpost unlocked. You can do this by going to Horizon Adventure and then using one Accolade Point unlocked on the Guanajuato Expedition. Doing so will unlock Street Racing events which in turn are required to unlock Midnight Battles. Now, you need to open Accolades and switch to Street Racing accolades. In there, you will have two tabs: Street Racing and Midnight Battles. Switch to the latter, select an accolade of your choice, and pin it so that you can keep track of your progress.
There are four Midnight Battles in the game, and each one is unlocked by completing 4 Street Races in total. So, you will need to complete 16 Street Races to unlock all Midnight Battles. Now, your previous race wins won’t count for this, so you will need to rack up fresh victories.
Make sure to check out the accolades on the right under the Midnight Battles tab. It specifies what car you should use to get the extra accolade. Players can take a look below to check out the four extra achievable Midnight Battle accolades:
- Midnight Rodeo: Win the “1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1” Midnight Battle in any Mustang
- What A Won-Da: Win the “1984 Honda Civic CRX Mugen” Midnight Battle in any Honda
- Celica You Later: Win the “2003 Toyota Celica Sport Specialty II” Midnight Battle in any Celica
- Bulls-Eye: Win the “201 Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SV” Midnight Battle in any Lamborghini
Winning all 4 Midnight Battles and their locations
The first Midnight Battle is located within Guanajuato. You will have to win this race in a C-class car and if you want to simultaneously get the Midnight Rodeo accolade then using a C-class Mustang should do. The Ford Mustang SVO 1986 or the Ford Mustang GT Coupe 1965 with an auto-upgrade to C-class is a good choice for this.
The second Midnight Battle is near the Aerodromo En La Selva and south of Mulege. You will need to win this race in a B-class car, and if you want to also get the What A Won-Da extra accolade then using a Honda B-class car is recommended. The Honda S2000 CR 2009 can be used for this race.
The third Midnight Battle is located on the northwestern side of the map, and to the north-east of the Horizon Baja Outpost. For this one, you will need to win this race in an A-class car. And to also get the Celica You Later extra accolade, use a Celica A-class car. The Celica GT-Four RC ST185 1992 along with an A-class auto-upgrade should suffice for this.
The last Midnight Battle is located within the southern area of the map, just north of Uxmal and Gran Puente and south of Cordillera. The requirement for winning this race is to use an S1-class car. And if you are also looking to grab the Bulls-Eye extra accolade at the same time then, go with a S1-class Lamborghini. The Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 2014 will work for this but you can also use other S1-class Lamborghini cards if you like.
Win all those races and you will receive the following rewards:
- Mustang Mach
- Honda CRX Mugen
- Toyota Celica SS-I
- Lambo Murcielago SV
By the way, there are three more accolades that you can get. These are The Nighthawk, Lock, Stock, Battle, and Chain Reaction. The first one, you will get automatically after completing all Midnight Battles. Lock, Stock, Battle requires you to win any Midnight Battle with a car that has no performance upgrades on it. So, any car fresh from the Autoshow will do. And for Chain Reaction, you will need to earn four Ultimate Skill Chains in Midnight Battles. For that, you can chain together various different skills like wreckages, drifts, burnouts, and such in the same combo. Do this four times, and you will get the Chain Reaction accolade.
