It can be safely said that Epic Games has cracked the code to making revenue off a game as a service, and their massive brand name now helps them continue the prosperous cycle that they have created for themselves. This involves making deals with several different forms of media so as to ensure that nearly every single part of their fan base is kept happy, while also luring in more players to the game who are fans of the media that they perform crossovers with. While Epic Games initially only engaged with other video games, they have since expanded to working with movie franchise owners like Marvel as well as DC movies, TV Shows like Rick and Morty, which is known to be popular amongst gamers, and even going to the extent of hosting a virtual concert for Travis Scott and Kid Cudi to release their single, The Scotts. In this article, we will be talking about the possibility of seeing a Demon Slayer and Fortnite crossover. Right, let’s get into it.

A study conducted for over 7500 Japanese school students ranked the protagonist of the Demon Slayer series, Tanjiro Kamado, as #1 of 10 most admired people in their lives, where their mothers, fathers, and teachers ranked far lower than the teen demon slayer! A whopping 97.1% of Japanese respondents to a poll conducted online said that they knew of the existence of the Demon Slayer Kimetsu No Yaiba series. Considering the widespread acclaim that this series enjoys, Epic Games and Fortnite could be looking to arrange a Demon Slayer and Fortnite crossover event to cash in on the popularity of this series and thus increase their fan following.

While Demon Slayer has not appeared in any of the surveys conducted by Epic Games for Fortnite, the owners of the rights to the Demon Slayer franchise very recently showed their willingness to collaborate with online multiplayer games, with GungHo’s Ninjala X Demon Slayer crossover event. Let’s hope we can soon say the same for Fortnite, preferably in 2021!
