We all are aware of the fact that Fido has a mobile email address. It is your 10 digit Fido number @fido.ca. The Fido email to text service lets you to receive the emails sent to this address directly on your Fido. You will also be able to read, reply and forward the e-mail and also block senders from sending you unnecessary messages and spam.
When an email is sent to your @fido.ca address, you will see a ‘Message Alert’ in your Fido inbox. You can directly reply ‘Read’ to the message alert if you wish to receive the message and you can also ‘Block’ the sender so that he or she cannot send you any more messages and you can also avoid the problem of spam. There is a direct delivery option by which you can receive the first 160 characters of every message automatically. Message Alerts will not be sent to you anymore if you subscribe to this feature. Other features remain the same.
The normal text message charges apply if you reply to a Message Alert at $.20 for every message on the basis of your messaging plan. A monthly charge of $5 will be applicable if you subscribe to the Email to text Direct Delivery option.
Overall, the service of Fido is not bad. But the service faces a lot of errors which has become a headache for many users. The main issue among these has been the Error 38 issue. This particular problem is being faced by many users of Fido. Users have reported that they cannot send messages when this error occurs. A few said that they keep on getting the error 38 when they try to send a text and they also are not able to receive any texts. A few said that they have got the ‘Failed Message’ text on their screen when they tried to send a message. Some others said that when the text sending fails, the recipient receives multiple copies of the same message. In this situation, if you want to fix the issue by yourself, you can follow these steps –
- Remove other message applications from your phone if you have any.
- Try to reset your network settings.
- Try to use the service in another phone and check if the problem still exists.
- Quit Fido and launch it again to check if the problem has been resolved.
