Water is surely a necessity in this game for almost everything. If you want to use the greenhouses and grow lettuces, tomatoes, strawberries, or even if you want to have livestock, you will need Water for sure.

Well, it is quite simple if you know how to. For this, you will need some specialist equipment and a water source as well. The easiest equipment you can go for in the game is the pre-packaged deal that you can find in the purchasing menu (it looks like a box!).
If you are planning to have livestock in the game, you know that animals will typically drink water. So if you click on the animals section in the purchasing menu, you can very well see all the things that you are going to need for your animals.
For example, there is the Joskins Aquatrans 7300s that cost about £9300. And you can tow this Joskins behind a tractor without you having to go and buy an articulated semi-truck to tow even a larger tank.
Once you have this Joskins Aquatrans, you will need to have something to pull it. If you have not got any tractor with you, it is better to go and buy a mid-range one to do so. Keep in mind that you can’t pull the Aquatrans using a truck, so you will need a tractor. It depends upon you how you attach the water tank to your truck – in third person mode or the first-person mode.
Once you have your machinery, it is time to go find a free water source. Do some research on the map, and you will get one. Once you find your free source of water, take your water tank to the place and park it along the shoreline. When you reach the perfect spot, it will say start filling on your controls on the top left side of your screen.
For PC players, the button to fill up the tank is the R key. Once you press the R key, you will see the little bar on the bottom of your screen next to the speedometer to start filling up.
Once you reach the full capacity of your tank (7300 liters for the Joskin Aquatrans), you will be all set to go. So this is how you get free water. Here is an alternative. If you are in beginner farmer mode, you can go to the water tank situated next to the stream and fill up water from there.
However, if you fill up water from there, it is not free. You have to pay some amount, not too much since it is not too expensive. But if you are a frugal farmer, you should opt for the first method to get some free water.
You also have several mods like the fire hydrant that you can place next to your greenhouses or the place where you want to have water. Again, since this is a mod, you will have to pay some amount of money. You can also place another more conveniently located water tank next to a water bed, like any stream or lake. So you have both the free method and paid methods to get water in the game!
