It is E3 and Xbox Game Showcase season, so we are inevitably back talking about a new game leak: this time, it’s Far Cry 6. There were several leaks about the plot and cast of Far Cry 6 before its reveal, and things are no different after we’ve got a full trailer. Let’s take a look at some of the pointers online that indicate an October 7th, 2021 release date for the game.
After not receiving any official release date announcement trailer or even a 10-second long promotional video to talk about the release date of the game, Xbox and Ubisoft seem to be dropping the release date on every single one of their content and coverages on Far Cry 6. Do they not realize that we never got an official announcement for it? It was in the deep dive trailer release by Xbox on YouTube that IGN confirmed the game had an official release date, about 16 hours ago. A deep dive trailer and this blog post from today are apparently the official announcements for the release date. It may be a new marketing strategy, but we are yet to see if it works. As of when I am writing this article, the trailer has just over 100k views and I doubt any significant portion of the fanbase reads their blog. At this point, it almost seems as though IGN’s article about the release date might just be the avenue that reaches most players. Did Ubisoft really plan on having a third party reporting company as their main spokesperson for the latest addition to one of their original franchises? Odd.
Either way, there you have it. Far Cry 6 is coming out on October 7th, 2021. The game features Breaking Bad’s Daniel Esposito and Coco’s Tony Gonzalez. We hope you are as excited for this game as we are!
