SCS Software’s Euro Truck Simulator 2 continues to be one of the most popular truck simulator games out there. Released back in 2012, ETS2 is still raking in impressive player numbers, with the Steam version alone achieving a 24-hour peak of about 38,689 players. That’s an amazingly impressive number for a game more than a decade old. And all of this has been possible thanks to the regular content drops done by the developers. If you are reading this, then you must be one of the many who want to know if Euro Truck Simulator 2 supports HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS. Well, we are here to share all the details regarding the same.
As of March 2021, Euro Truck Simulator 2 has sold over 9 million units. This certainly speaks volumes about just how great and fun ETS2 is. Although the truck simulator genre remains a niche one, titles like ETS2 have helped a lot in popularising the genre. And with new players regularly joining in on the fun, it’s only evident that a lot of them would want to know if the game supports HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS. So, let’s go ahead and find out all about that.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 HDR, Ultrawide (21:9), Super Ultrawide (32:9), AMD FSR 3 & DLSS Support Details
Let’s start with HDR. Well, HDR in Euro Truck Simulator 2 is kind of strange. To put it in simple terms, HDR is always enabled in the game. Before the 1.40 update, HDR was a toggleable option in the in-game settings. However, the 1.40 update made HDR necessary for the new lighting system, and as a result, HDR was turned on permanently. So, while the game does support HDR, you will not be able to turn it off even if you want to.
Coming to the topic of ultrawide and super ultrawide, players should be happy to know that Euro Truck Simulator 2 supports both. You don’t need any mods or third-party tools to enjoy the game in these resolutions. There’s full native ultrawide and super ultrawide support in the game.
While there is ultrawide and super ultrawide support, unfortunately, that’s not the same case with AMD FSR 3 and DLSS. In fact, Euro Truck Simulator 2 still doesn’t have any upscaling options in the game. There’s certainly a big enough demand for it, but SCS Software has yet to implement any such upscaling technology option. However, if you are willing to use mods, then here’s Snowy Moon’s Temporal Anti Aliasing/DLSS/DLAA mod. As the name suggests, this mod allows you to use DLSS, DLAA, and TAA features in the game. Try it and see if you like it. And if the developers do add in DLSS and FSR in later updates, we will be sure to update our readers on it.
