Ebookee.org website has shut down & closed due to piracy issues, users moving to its alternatives

Ebookee.org was one of the most popular pirated websites which used to provide free ebooks via its search directory. The website itself didn’t host any content but it was an aggregator of links from file hosting websites including Rapidgator, Nitroflare & many others.

As reported by Torrentfreak, the domain Ebookee.org seems to have suspended by the Public Domain Registry but it is not yet clear why the suspension has been taken. However, the website was on the radar of many big publications including Penguin Random House, Harper Collins, Cambridge University Press, Amazon, and National Geographic for Copyright Infringement. The website has over 858,782 complaints registered under DMCA which can be seen on the Google Transparency Report.

In the last few weeks, many big publications have sent DMCA complaints against the website. So, it is highly possible that a major copyright issue has resulted in its suspension.

Currently, the website is showing a blank page and it can’t be reached anymore. The website has also been removed from the Google Index. If you will type Ebookee.org on Google, it will show a Facebook page of the same name on the top. The Ebookee.org Facebook page info is currently mentioning a new domain. But it is not known whether this page is officially related to Ebookee.org or not.
