Mithril Interactive’s Dungeonborne has been getting some major traction since its announcement trailer was released back on January 27, 2024. It’s a PvPvE extraction dungeon crawler set in a dark fantasy world, and instead of using guns, players will be using swords, wands, and such. That’s certainly an interesting take on the genre, to be honest. Now, while the game will be available on PC, many players want to enjoy the game on their Steam Decks. But before that, a major question needs to be answered: does the game support the Deck?
Out of all the hardware Valve has released in its lifetime, the Steam Deck is surely its best one. Released back in February 2022, it’s become quite a popular choice with players who want to play PC games on the go. Valve already has a pretty robust library for the Deck, and coupled with its awesome customer support, it’s no wonder that the device is selling like hotcakes. And with each game’s announcement and release, there comes the question: will this game be playable on the Steam Deck? The same question is now being asked for Dungeonborne. So, let’s go ahead and find out all about that.
Dungeonborne Steam Deck Support: Is it available
At the time of publishing this, officially, there’s no acknowledgment regarding support for Dungeonborne on the Steam Deck. And it’s highly unlikely that the devs will try to make the game a Verified title for the Deck right now. Dungeonborne is currently in alpha, and as such, the main focus for the devs at this moment is ironing out the game. Safe to say, getting the game playable on the Steam Deck isn’t on the priority list right now.
Now, if you go look at the ProtonDB page of the game, you will find that there’s nothing in there. Not even one user has submitted a report on it. This effectively places Dungeonborne in the Unknown category for Steam Deck games. Even the official Discord server of the game doesn’t have any major info on whether the game is playable on the Deck or not. However, if you want, you can try that for yourself, since Dungeonborne will get an open playtest starting from February 2 until the 17th. Note that, if the game isn’t playable on SteamOS, you could just dual-boot Windows on your Deck and then try playing the game.
In conclusion, if you want to play Dungeonborne on Steam Deck, better try it out yourself and see if the game is playable or not. And if you are expecting the game to get Verified for the Deck, then you will need to wait for a good amount of time.
