Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is one of the most beloved psychological horror games ever made, and it is now getting an expanded and enhanced version called Doki Doki Literature Club Plus. This version is set to release on June 30, 2021 globally. The new expanded and enhanced version is confirmed to be bringing in 6 new side stories about “friendship and literature”. There’s also over one hundred unlockable images of game art, concept sketches, and wallpapers. We sure are all ready for even more fourth wall breaking, mind bending, goosebump raising horror content from what has quickly become everyone’s favourite horror game since its original release in 2017.
While the game is heavily marketed and presented to the player as just another anime-style dating simulator, it is actually far, far more, and can well and truly scare the wits out of even the most seasoned of horror game and movie veterans. Without getting too much farther into spoiler territory, let’s instead take a look at the two versions of the expanded version that will be released to the market.
The physical version of the game has been priced at $29.99, and will ship with a bunch of goodies apart from the actual game itself. It will include a Poem notebook inner coversheet for the Nintendo Switch version of the game exclusively. The digital edition of the game will cost you $14.99 after release and is currently at the pre-order price of $13.49. It will include the digital code to download the game only, and is thus proportionately priced. This is perhaps the best option for those looking to enter the world of Doki Doki Literature Club for the first time.
