Restart the game, and your PC

The developers have released a fix for this issue in the game, and they have mentioned that players should restart Disney Dreamlight Valley to ensure the changes take effect. But, if restarting the game didn’t fix the issue, consider restarting your PC, and then launching the game to check if the error persists.

Verify integrity of game files

If you’re playing the game on Steam, you can try verifying the integrity of the game files to see if that solves the issue. To do so,

  • Launch Steam on your PC and open your game library.
  • Locate Disney Dreamlight Valley from the list and right-click on it.
  • From the drop-down menu, click on Properties and then select Local Files.
  • Now select the “Verify integrity of game files” option and wait for the process to complete. Doing this will prompt Steam to run a check and replace all the corrupt or missing game files. See if this fixes the error for you.

Reinstall the game

You can also try reinstalling the game to fix this issue. However, note that the initialization error code #201 is most probably triggered due to server-side issues, and reinstalling the game isn’t the best fix for this.

Contact customer support

If you continue to face the initialization error #201 in Disney Dreamlight Valley, then you should try contacting customer support. Make sure to explain the problem in detail so that the developers can find out what the actual cause of it is.
